From the renters point of view ..... Unless you have to stay in a hotel .... This is the only way to travel. Paris ... Cute studio apartment in the Marais area.  It was exactly as it looked on the site. Lyon was a loft apartment in a great old building but full kitchen etc and great views of the river and city. Avignon... We could have had  six more people ... Private courtyard with olive trees .. French doors to that courtyard from three rooms...close to everything.
