During the 6 days we rented a HomeAway/VRBO "Luxury Apartment" in Galway for $7,000 the property manager did not respond to repeated phone calls, texts or emails about the problems with the rental. We had to wait for over an hour on the sidewalk outside the building for a housekeeper to let us in when we arrived. Jacuzzi, washing machine, pots in the kitchen were all dirty. Seagulls' old, dried droppings were all over the balcony. And what's not mentioned about the location is the larger ocean tanker ships actively using the docks the place looks out on can make a good deal of noise. Additionally, the many seagulls roosting on the roof of the penthouse and surrounding buildings cry and screech 24 hours day. Not a restful place to vacation.
Galway is a terrific city and there must be better places to rent especially for this high a price.
